CARS Explorer is a European research network coordinated by the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm - Dr. Didier Marguet, Marseille, France). The consortium comprises 7 partner organisations from 4 European member states including one small and medium sized enterprise (SME).

CARS Explorer was launched in March 2008 and will run for a period of three years. The highly interdisciplinary consortium combines the expertise of internationally renowned physicists, biologists and clinicians in the fields of medical imaging, NLO technology, pre-clinical animal models and skin cancer.
